IDS Supports National Home Security Month 2021

We  are delighted to be supporting National Home Security Month 2021 (NHSM) – an annual campaign from leading UK security specialist, Yale.

Taking place every October, the objective of NHSM 2021 is to raise awareness of home security and the importance of taking precautions to ensure your home and loved ones are protected.

The campaign runs throughout the month, coinciding with the start of the autumn when the nights start to draw in and the clocks go back an hour.

The ONS Nature of Crime report revealed 76% of domestic burglaries in England and Wales were through a door and in fact 24% of cases where entry was gained, the door was unlocked.1 Statistics such as this reinforce the need for awareness around home security.

November was revealed to be the month when most burglaries take place2. So, when the dark nights descend, it’s important to have home security measures in place, giving you peace of mind that your home is protected against any unwanted visitors.

To ensure homeowners are prepared for the winter months ahead, NHSM 2021 will be serving up seasonal tips and advice, to let homeowners know how they can reduce their risk of being targeted by burglars.

Everything from Smart access control, smart alarms, smart security cameras and smart door locks to the importance of having a secure front door and the latest security standards will be covered throughout the month.
