Centre Heights is a newly refurbished building, transformed from commercial use to residential, for high-profile and VIP residents accustomed to the highest quality. In 2017 the developer planned to build five penthouses adding an additional three floors to the building. Elegant and contemporary, the interiors were conceived and designed by the vendors to meet every human comfort with innovative ease.

Located in Swiss Cottage, a minutes’ walk to the highly coveted Abbey Road Studios and the lovely open space of Regent’s Park, the property now offers a superb collection of stunning studios and one-bedroom apartments with modern interiors arranged over ten floors.

The penthouses were designed to the highest of standards, with meticulous attention to detail; brightly lit spaces and all new fittings. One of the most spectacular features is a roof top terrace offering 360 degree views of London. The developers addressed all details to ensure a forward-thinking design, incorporating smart lifestyle technology, to complement the interior scheme.

IDS were the chosen vendor to execute the technological smart home design. Tas Kyriacou, IDS Director explains,

“We were tasked with designing an unobtrusive, integrated scheme incorporating security, access, lighting, sound and temperature control as well as TV distribution. The finished apartments offer the highest quality with the most advanced home tech from Crestron. Users will be able to control their lighting and heating at the touch of a button, helping to keep utility bills low and avoid unnecessary waste, reducing their impact on the environment.

Furthermore, scenes can be set to create atmosphere and welcome home scenarios, making them a really nice place to come home to. An easy to access app means they will have full control even when they are away from home.”

Full scale integration was crucial for the aesthetics of these luxury apartments, Tas adds,

“We ensured that we integrated as much as possible with the Crestron platform. To keep walls clean we only used 5” touch panels on each floor and the bedroom. This allows the user to control all elements of the home from one source. Our favourite element of the job was integrating the control of the glass roof, which leads to the terrace – something the client was exceptionally pleased with.”

As the developer is planning to sell these properties, the systems had to be futureproof, it was important that the buyer had the flexibility to add to the systems as and when they needed to.

This was taken into account from the design stage, where cabling was provisioned for every eventuality. The system is highly versatile and will allow the user full flexibility and expandability going forward. This was a key selling point for the developer.
