Ariella, North London

Securing Ariella’s return to the retail market

Ariella designs, manufactures, wholesales and retails exclusive and original ladies fashion. It is acclaimed as one of Europe’s leading fashion houses for cocktail, evening and special occasion wear.  Recently they returned to retail for the first time in nearly 30 years, opening stores in North London’s Brent Cross shopping centre and Bluewater.

After several months in operation it became apparent that Ariella would need a sophisticated retail security system to safeguard their high end merchandise and employees.

A founding member of the British Fashion Council and Ariella Chief Executive Achilleas Constantinou describes, “When designing a boutique like ours, security is key, we need to protect our staff, customers and beautiful garments. Not only that, we wanted a robust system that could offer us more than just security.”

Seamless integration takes CCTV beyond security

We installed high quality IP CCTV cameras in both stores, with a particular focus on the tills and high price ticket areas. Working with Ariella’s stock control and EPOS software providers I. Level we were able to deliver a full retail security solution. In addition to the retail security, we also supplied 16 high definition IP cameras at Ariella’s head office in North London. Ariella’s management team can now remotely monitor both their store and offices from a single platform. Furthermore they are utilising the time and attendance function.

Benefits of Integrated Solutions

The integration of the two solutions gives Ariella greater insight into their staff performance and activities as well as providing conclusive evidence whenever a dispute or situation arises. They opted for further analytics packages to provide them with a clear picture of their customers shopping behaviour and staff’s time attendance figures.

Achilleas, exclaims, “Since we implemented the EPOS CCTV integration, we have tighter control on the level of discounts being offered and have noticed a reduction in our shrinkage costs. We have also used the analytics to follow our customers in store journeys via heat mapping and the data provides invaluable input to our merchandising meetings”
