4-5 Bell Yard comprises approximately 9,000 sq ft of space arranged over six floors, offering an excellent residential mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments, each exuding luxury and elegance.


Westcombe Group, a leading London property developer, worked with IDS to integrate the latest lifestyle technology into the new homes.

What Was Installed

  • Lighting Control
  • Audio and video distribution

To answer the technology brief, each apartment was fitted with lighting controls, audio and video distribution systems. This allows multi zone audio throughout the apartment, likewise a video matrix was also installed to allow multiple sources to play across different rooms within an apartment.


Tas Kyriacou IDS Director states“We used Crestron lighting controls and audio distribution with a Pulse eight video distribution system. We also installed Creston 5” touch panels to control the audio and lighting via the Creston Ping OS2 system. The Creston Ping software platform gives new residents the opportunity to adjust the lighting controls, to meet their own tastes and usage patterns, without the need of an engineer, making changes quick, easy and cost effective.”

Having a lighting control system provides multiple benefits, including customised scene selection through to energy efficiency. As some of the apartments are duplexes an ‘all off’ option at the entrance allows residents to turn all the lights off on exit. IDS also provided elegant keypads with engravings and a backlit buttons when it detects motion, to blend with the luxurious interior design.


The video matrix allows occupants to effortlessly watch multiple sources across all of the TVs within the apartment by simply selecting a different source on their remote – no unsightly or messy boxes below each TV, everything is centralised providing a clean and tidy solution for the client.

Tas Kyriacou comments, “It was crucial for us to work closely with the principle contractor at each stage of the project, to ensure all elements were in place for us to execute our part of the works, our project manager and engineering team played a crucial part in this process, constantly communicating with the contractor to ensure delivery of each stage of the project was on time.”
